The Human Services Program at Saddleback College now offers an Occupational Skills Award for Eating Disorders. This award requires the completion of the Eating Disorders courses offered online through the Human Services Department:
- HS 181-Introduction to Eating Disorders
- HS 184 – Medical Aspects of Eating Disorders, and
- HS 185 – The Background and Treatment of Eating Disorders.
The two courses offered this semester (Fall 2015) are: HS 181(Ticket #21470) and HS 184 (Ticket #21475). You may enroll in these classes through September 8, 2015. Two more of the Eating Disorders classes are offered in Spring and Summer sessions.
Training in the intervention, assessment, and referrals for eating disorders is essential in the field of substance-related disorders, where the disorders are prevalent. The OSA will supplement any of the Human Services certificates. For more information see: www.saddleback.edu/faculty/lphelps
